Elephants are by far my favorite animal - I've always been inspired by their regal strength, their funny playfulness, and their fierce maternal protective insticts. According to elephant experts, "mothers and aunts are in almost constant affectionate contact with the young, offering guidance and assistance." 
 
This painting of a mother elephant and her baby, to me, symbolizes both the love that exists between mama and child as well as the undoubting trust the baby has in his or her mother. They are both so much better off because they have each other.
